Quality analytics platform

Statistical process control, inside the dashboards you already run.

KensoBI turns measurement data into control charts, capability studies and 3D quality reports. It installs into Grafana, reads the measurement database already sitting in your plant, and runs on your own network. Your quality analytics end up on the same dashboards as the rest of your production data.

If you have not met Grafana: it is an open source platform used to watch live data from servers, energy grids and production lines. It connects to almost any database, refreshes on its own, raises alerts and runs unattended on a wall screen. It has never covered statistics for manufacturing quality, which is the part we build.

Built for measurement data

Grafana already handles machine and process data. KensoBI adds the statistics for the parts coming off those machines.

The full chart set, including short run

Control charts that work out their own limits, Nelson run rules, attribute charts with Laney corrections, and the short-run methods high-mix machining needs, DNOM and Z-MR. Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk are calculated the Minitab way.

The plugin suite
Measurements on the part itself

Load the 3D model in the browser and pin characteristics to the geometry they were taken from, so each number is read at the feature it describes. Standard statistics packages have no equivalent.

CAD and 3D quality
On your data, on your network

CMM output, gauge readings, lab results and ERP records live in different systems. We read them where they already are, on premise and air-gapped if that is the requirement, and push the SPC maths into the database so large studies stay fast.

Quality data
A dimensional characteristic report with SPC control charts

A report that is current when you open it

Most quality reporting is someone exporting a CSV, pasting it into a template and mailing it round on a Friday. The process has usually moved on by the time anyone reads it.

Point a dashboard at the measurement database once and it stays current. The control limits recalculate, the capability indices follow, and anyone who needs the numbers opens a link.

  • Current at the moment you open it
  • One version of the numbers across departments
  • Still exports to CSV and PNG when the auditor asks

A drawing everyone can read

Most of the people who have to act on a measurement cannot place a characteristic ID on the part. On the model, the number sits on the feature it describes.

Load STL, 3MF or PLY straight into the browser, pin balloons to the features, and let anyone spin the part and click through to the history behind a measurement.

Two ways to run it

Let us host the whole platform, or install the plugins into the Grafana you already run. Same plugins either way.

Your own Grafana

Self-hosted, on your network, under your control.

  • Four plugins are open source. Install them today, free forever
  • Commercial plugins licensed per instance, individually or as a bundle
  • Works with self-hosted Grafana, Docker or Grafana Cloud
  • Your measurement data never leaves your network

Not sure which? Self-host if your quality data has to stay inside the plant network. Wait for Cloud if you would rather we ran the server. Tell us which and we will let you know when it opens.

Start with one control chart

Install the free SPC panel, point it at a table you already have, and read your first control chart. The plugin queries the table where it sits, so there is nothing to build beforehand.
